Introducing Artist Choice Mondays...

Underwater0132People often are amazed at the "artistic images" that seem to run through my head and plague my attempts at a good nights sleep.  So  there is only one thing to be done.... let them free.   A session to play and try new things and new locations.  All my "creativity" unleashed if you like.  So each Monday it is my goal to photograph 1 new idea, location, style, lighting pattern... whatever idea is keeping me from sleep that week.
So why on earth am I babbling about my sleep... because if you are up for a little adventure too we might be able to create a little art together!  This is the chance to just sit back and let the artist create and have faith in the end result.   The catch- well you have to be darning, open to possibilities and know that it wont be about how many poses or such- it will be about capturing one stellar image, or a series in a great location.  At this point I'm thinking of older kids and adults.  Babies are always on my mind, but luckily they aren't haunting my sleep yet!

How do we decide which clients?  How do you know what we will do.... this is the fun and the mystery.  We encourage everyone to call the boutique and let us know you are interested and we will see if you might work for an up coming idea!  Hey, you know it will be on a Monday!

Crazy artist + Free Session = At least an adventure!

A little playtime...well for an artist that is

Today I hung out with some friends and very talented merchants here in town.  Shawn from Mt. Vernon Florist came over with some cool little pieces she was working on and Rachel of Paragon who does the ever so cool extensions joined us to have a little fun with Miss Anna.  The idea was something with impact, but simple.  Rachel did an amazing job of giving us some fashionable makeup and hair for the shoot.  Withe Anna's gorgeous fair skin I'm glad we had Rachel because I would have never been able to figure out even what skin tone she is for the makeup!  Little Miss Myah joined us in the afternoon as well.

The result....  Anna is such a gorgeous young lady.  I've had the privilege of photographing her since she was around 10 years old and she was stunning even as a child.  I hope she never colors her hair!

How about a little zip!

Then when we were done we just started goofing around.... we couldn't help it- what you don't see is we are cracking up every couple frames because I'm a dork and just stuffed feathers in her hair- around her... but we laughed that I would make it into something... so her ye you go ladies....

Go Broncos!

OK that was just too close!   For those that watched the game you know what I'm talking about.... 1 second snap, kick, score!  Obviously Mike is a happy camper that his Broncos won.
Funny thing is I grew up a 49er fan!  I think all little girls cheer for either the team with the best uniforms or the team that Dad liked!  So 49ers it was!  I still secretly cheer for them when Mike isn't looking... shhhhhh!

Boyd shares that Broncos spirit!

ATTENTION all of us iPhone owners...

Hero20070905

So in case you haven't noticed Apple lowered the price of the 8G iPhone from the $599 that we all bought it for to $399 for the holidays.  Yep- $200 lower in just 2 months.  I guess they have been swamped with complaints by loyal apple customers about the drastic drop in price so quickly.  So the CEO has issued a letter.  It is interesting and if you were one of the first iPhone purchasers it is worth a read as they intend to do a $100 credit , it sounds like they are still working out the details.

Letter from Steve Jobs the Apple CEO

The letter reads....

I have received hundreds of emails from iPhone customers who are upset about Apple dropping the price of iPhone by $200 two months after it went on sale. After reading every one of these emails, I have some observations and conclusions.

First, I am sure that we are making the correct decision to lower the price of the 8GB iPhone from $599 to $399, and that now is the right time to do it. iPhone is a breakthrough product, and we have the chance to 'go for it' this holiday season. iPhone is so far ahead of the competition, and now it will be affordable by even more customers. It benefits both Apple and every iPhone user to get as many new customers as possible in the iPhone 'tent'. We strongly believe the $399 price will help us do just that this holiday season.

Second, being in technology for 30+ years I can attest to the fact that the technology road is bumpy. There is always change and improvement, and there is always someone who bought a product before a particular cutoff date and misses the new price or the new operating system or the new whatever. This is life in the technology lane. If you always wait for the next price cut or to buy the new improved model, you'll never buy any technology product because there is always something better and less expensive on the horizon. The good news is that if you buy products from companies that support them well, like Apple tries to do, you will receive years of useful and satisfying service from them even as newer models are introduced.

Third, even though we are making the right decision to lower the price of iPhone, and even though the technology road is bumpy, we need to do a better job taking care of our early iPhone customers as we aggressively go after new ones with a lower price. Our early customers trusted us, and we must live up to that trust with our actions in moments like these.

Therefore, we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store. Details are still being worked out and will be posted on Apple's website next week. Stay tuned.

We want to do the right thing for our valued iPhone customers. We apologize for disappointing some of you, and we are doing our best to live up to your high expectations of Apple.

Steve Jobs
Apple CEO

Heart of Clarity

Bni006julirI just have to share a wonderful lady here in town.  Julie of Heart of Clarity if simply fabulous.

Heart of Clarity.

I met with Julie and after sitting and chatting over lunch listening to what it is that she does it clicked!  So often we create business plans to help guide and clarify the purpose of our businesses- well she does the same thing for our lives.    Wow.  It was like a revelation.  I've given a lot of thought to our business plan, but my life plan- well somewhat, but not really.  So I'm ready  now to do the Passion Test.

• The Passion Test provides the simplest, clearest way to get started on knowing what you want, by getting clear on who you are. It is powerful because it is a system. A system is an organized, established procedure which produces results, no matter who is using that system.   It involves three simple but profound concepts:

• Intention is the action of identifying and consciously stating what it is you choose to create in your life.

• Your life becomes whatever you place your attention on. Give attention to your passions and you will begin to achieve the goals you have set for yourself.

• No tension happens when your intent and focus is in alignment with your actions. Identifying, focusing and choosing in favor of your passions whenever you are faced with a decision, choice or opportunity creates an absence of stress and confusion.

The ultimate goal is to create joy, happiness, satisfaction and success in your life in a manner that is unique to you alone.

o  Workshop description:
The Passion Test™ is simple to take, fun to do, and profoundly effective.

By the end of this 3 Hour Workshop you will know:
Your Top 5 Passions- Research on 100 of the most successful individuals in America showed they have one thing in common.  What is it?  When they identified the top 5 things that were most important to them in their career, all of them had achieved every one of them.  Does it make sense that knowing your top 5 is the first step to living a successful, fulfilled life?
Your Passion Score- How closely is your current life aligned with your passions?  Your Passion Score will tell you.  If your score is 100, then you're completely aligned - you're living your Dreams and Passions.  If your score is less than 100, we can help you identify where to put your attention, create the action plan, and GET MOVING!
Your Passion Markers - Markers are signposts that will help you know when you are living your passions. It is here that you make sure everything important to you is included. Markers are not goals in the sense that you are working hard to achieve them; they are milestones along the way, and a focus for your attention to create your passions in your life.
7 Principles for Living a Passionate Life – Passion arises from the heart. Living in accord with these higher principles are the key to living in balance with what matters most to you.

I really am looking forward to my private sessions with Julie and  finding a new commitment to myself and my own personal goals and hopes.  If you can get away on the 15th  I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the discount she has so generously given to our ink-dinky-do clients and blog readers!

Wedding Resource

inky-dinky-do is happy to announce that some time ago we joined as founding members of  u Wedding Party.com

a great new resource for brides.  Marcus started this site with the intention of helping serious brides find top of the line professionals.  While some sites like the Knot will list anyone that calls themselves a photographer Marcus has ensured that the photographers featured are genuine photographers.  There are some great photographers on there and it looks like it is taking off in the few short weeks it has been on-line.  I believe his intentions are to have it grow to include more wedding professionals beyond photography soon.  Think less corporate advertising and more good resources!  Check it out!  Wedding PartyWedpage
