Plan B has some fun with Brooke & Fernando

Jen & Kim got to play this afternoon with Brooke & Fernando.  They have a wedding planned for May 17th at the Guild House.  They had a great time with this fun loving couple.  I only regret I didn't get to come play!  They left me behind to pack the gear for the inky-dinky-do wedding on Saturday of Erin & Scott.  It is a good thing that I had something to do too!

Here is a little peek from today before I'm off to bed to rest up for tomorrow!

Congratulations to a fromer groom...Seamus Dever

We just had to share great news....
Seamus Dever one of our former grooms, and all around handsome & nice guy, landed the roll of Dr. Ian Devlin on General Hospital.  We know ladies he is dreamy, but don't waste your time... his wife Julie is stunning, sweet and a nice person even!  I know it hardly seems fair, but she is.  We had such a great time with them at their wedding last year.  They had a touching ceremony complete with flower girls....errr flower dogs..... bearing floral wreaths.  Too sweet.   Some of you may recognize Seamus from some rolls on CSI, Without a Trace, NCIS, Hollywoodland,  and some theater & Indie films.  We like to joke that he is usually the last guy to have sex with the lady that is now dead <insert sinister and suspicious music here>.

inky-dinky-do was very pleased to have recorded their wedding day...

You can catch his latest interview on TVbuddy. Click here.

Congratulations again Seamus from all of us at inky-dinky-do

However, thanks for giving my girls an excuse to watch soap operas at work!  You know they will say it is for the good of my clients now!

Congratulations Michelle & Joel

Plan B (remember that new little wedding division of inky-dinky-do) had a great time this weekend with Michelle & Joel at the Metro Gallery!  What a fun group.  Michelle couldn't stop smiling and Joel, well it didn't take long to find out he is a little joker himself.  Everyone was in tears during the ceremony with poetry and vows that softened even the big tough guys.  Then when you thought you were in the clear at the reception the Groom's mom breaks out a gift followed by toasts that really had everyone crying tears of joy.  It was a very touching wedding.  Plan B had a great time and I even snuck in to join in the fun for awhile and got to visit with  JC & Jaime Lynn (he was the DJ for the wedding).  You might remember them for our previous Plan B wedding!  Thanks for referring Michelle and Joel to us guys!  Kim & Jen did a great job and of course met lots of wonderful new people!

So how about a little peek....

Wedding styles for this summer

A big trend this summer is keeping it real and soft and natural  So ladies Stacey at Split Ends did this cute little style for a magazine shoot we did.  Soft natural with hibiscus flowers intertwined- perfect for the destination wedding!  This time we aren't at some fabulous location- well, it is fabulous, but hardly tropical- this is our own tiki hut at the studio.  See, even if you can't go to the tropics we can bring the tropics to you!

Don't forget we will start with the water sessions again in May or June, it is still too cold for now unless you want to wear a wet suit!

Meet Josh & Linsey.  Two fabulously wonderful and gorgeous people.  He is laid back and she is a fiesty little English lady.  Fun combination!  They were wed in a garden wedding at the beach in San Diego and these two have been so wrapped up in honeymoon bliss that they aren't ready to release their wedding yet... but soon!

We will be updating them and sooo many more on the website since we've been a little busy we will catch up the wedding side this month!

Wedding Show today!

We just got back from the wedding show.  We had a great time meeting some fun brides.  Kim (wedding director for inky-dinky-do) in black on the right, Angela on the left and myself were hanging out!  Kristen took the photo on my iphone.

We were excited to show off the new banners that are available for our inky-dinky-do brides (look above our heads) and you will see Erin & Scott's banner.  What a great way to say the party is this way!

Kim & Kristen were excited to launch Plan B today!

Plan B was a hit!  What is Plan B?  Well think of all those brides that can't get inky-dinky-do for their wedding day because of either availability or maybe budget- well time to go to Plan B!  This is the fabulous trained staff that are up and coming photographers that are going out on their own (well under my close supervision!)  The price tag is appealing at $850-$1400.  I know that is a killer deal!  Even better... you can book Plan B for your wedding day and still do the fancy Couture Sessions like we do for magazines that are so hot!  The perfect combination!

Of course we couldn't resist sharing a quick iphone grab of Miss Anna who I've photographed since she was a little girl with her banner from a shoot for Ladies & Gents!  She did the fashion show as well and even survived her first backstage zipper mishap.  Welcome to the world of fashion Miss Anna.

By popular demand we are also giving brides the link to our resource page about how to select a wedding photographer- even if it isn't inky-dinky-do!  We know this is a big decision and who knows what to ask unless you do this all the time.  There are some pitfalls and even photography has some deceptive things (like using photos from workshops instead of their work, or display albums that aren't their work...) this should help you navigate it all and make the best decision for you!
Questions to ask your potential wedding photographer!

A couple lucky men won Valentine Rendezvous Sessions for their brides too!  Angela will be calling Tuesday to set you up!  Take me to more information about the Valentine Special Please!

Thanks for a great day guys and while it was fun to snap these on the iphone... don't worry we wont be using iphones at weddings!

Happy New Year to Everyone!

2007 has been such a great and crazy year for us personally and the studio.  I hope that the treated everyone well and that 2008 is even better.  Our wish for everyone this year is time with Family & Friends.  I think that will be me only real resolution for 2008 more time for my family & friends.  I don't regret one minute that I spent with them in 2007 so it seems like a good goal!  Come to think of it we took on a lot of community projects this last year and I feel great about those as well.  While it was nice to receive the Humanitarian of the Year at the Beautiful Bakersfield Awards, I think the families I met during the year that brought me to that award mean even more.  Of course the Relay for Life was our first year and we are already raising for 2008!  We had a great time and this year I wont be in a wheelchair for it!
My only real regret for 2007.... at some point during the year I turned around and my kid grew up.  Just wasn't ready for that to happen.  Mike and I are now looking at two beautiful young ladies that are going to dances and actually care if what they are wearing matches.  For those of you giggling and thinking ha ha boys are next- stop!  I'm looking into convents as I type.

So because I feel so blessed this last year, and maybe those prescribed pain killers make me a little loopy.... let's have a little thank you bonus for my favorite blog readers!

Here you go....
From 12:01 am Jan 1, 2008 to 11:59pm-Jan 1,2008  Pacific time....

The first 5 people to send us your favorite photo YOU took this last year will win a fun little "artist has gone mad and is bored session".
Hey, I bought a bunch of stuff and haven't gotten to play with any of it yet!  Besides, you all kept me so busy this last year I never did do my Artist Mondays!  So let's have some fun and be a little crazy and just to sweeten it up a little.... we have a special new something for you as well... can't tell you that yet, but you will like it.

:)  Happy New Year!

Bakersfield's Best Kept Secret this Week....

Shoppingalert Miss Lili Parker!
A personal shopper and exclusive fashion retailer for some of the mover and shakers in the know around town.

Now I know some of you know who I'm talking about and you all are just shaking your head thinking I can't believe she is telling people.... I am!  You guys have kept this secret WAY too long!

Lili is just the sweetest person and talk about customer service... heck I think she would have found someone to wax my car while I was shopping if I asked.  With her being so personalized and exclusive you would think she would be stuffy- so not the case.  She is warm, inviting and all the while sharing her expertise.

So now what does Miss Lili Parker have... CLOTHES... glorious clothes... I mean fashion.  She has a suit that is just business enough, yet sassy enough that I wanted it on the spot knowing I'd have to diet to fit in it- didn't care still want it!  She has fabulous suits for ladies ranging from classy Mother of the Bride, to Southern Mother of the Bride, to Corporate Board room that is all about being a fabulous woman yet professional.  She pointed out the perfect outfit for the next time I'm speaking out of state that wont require me to iron it- love that!  She had two styles of dress (one red, one black) that are the perfect answer to the office party with the husband.  You know just dressy enough, not trying too hard, sexy, but classy and definitely not something everyone else is wearing.  Love it!  She had a brown leather bolero jacket that is screaming to be worn out.  Dresses that are great for that random beach wedding or dinner at the Getty fund raiser.  There were shoes too..... AND she can order TONS of stuff.  So need that perfect outfit for Junior League, Cotillion, Church or special event? She either has it or can order something to your personal style.  Oh, one more fabulous little trait... if she sets you up with a look for a special event and your friend goes to her too- no worries there is no chance you will look alike!  I guess that is her personal shopper coming through!  There is casual stuff too- tons of cute stuff to go with jeans even.  Just so the hubby doesn't feel left out... there are suits for him too.  I happen to have noticed Jeremy Sutton of Morgan Stanley (yes, ladies he was profiled in Bakersfield Life not too long ago) sporting a suit from Miss Lili's little home boutique not too long ago.

So you simply must call Miss Lili and her husband Larry Parker and set up a consultation.  Mention you are an inky-dinky-do client and enjoy the fact that she will not only help you figure out what looks best on you, but make sure it gets altered if needed to hang perfectly too.  Can't find the time 9-5 don't worry she said she would take care of inky-dinky-do clients after 5pm if needed.  That is pretty cool.  Not sure what might look good on you?  (hey what looked good 3 kids ago might not be the same now!) Lili can help you find your style again.   Who knew that  little old me and all my clients could have access to such a great shopper and stylist!

Thanks again Lili for such a wonderful time this afternoon and I can't wait to come back!
